Two Day Class – Fabric is Paint
What to do with all the scraps and leftover fabric you have stashed in your bins? You keep thinking, I am not throwing these away! I know I can find a way to use them!
WELL, the time has come!
Join me, Pam Collins for a 2 day workshop called, Fabric is Paint. You will work on a canvas and learn how to look at fabric in a totally different way, and create a landscape or seascape. In this class, you will learn about design and subject matter. You will learn how to choose the right fabrics and patterns and textures for your piece of art. I will guide you through the whole process from start to finish.
The actual work is very simple. It is a matter of gluing fabric onto a canvas. The only tools you will use are: scissors, glue, canvas, fabric, tweezers and straight pins. The only thing you will need to bring is your scissors, and any fabric you might like to incorporate into your artwork. All other supplies will be provided. This medium is not complicated, and anyone can learn this.
The first day will be about learning to see fabric as something other than what it was intended for. You will learn design concepts, and how to design your subject, where to start, and problem solve. There will be plenty of one on one time with the instructor. Fabric is Paint is a very inspirational medium and most often brings much satisfaction to those who try it. If you don’t like something you simply put a new piece of fabric over the previous.
The time will pass quickly, and before you know it the day has ended.
In order not to be rushed or stressed, the class will continue the following day.
The second day includes getting over that hump, when you think all has failed. It happens to everyone, me included. You will continue to have one on one time with the instructor and get to the finish line by coating your painting with polyurethane.
I promise you, this class is unique and exciting! You will not be disappointed!
Join me, won’t you?
